The Canadian Wildlife Service has been gathering data on the Churchill polar bears for more than 30 years. Eighty per cent of the adult bears in this area have been tranquillized, handled, tagged, tattooed, weighed and measured, had blood drawn, teeth checked, their behaviour and life history recorded, many more than once. The data gathered here show evidence of the effects of global warming - declining weight and falling birth rate.

Participate in a scientific study, Project FeederWatch, collecting data that will be used to study the various factors, such as climate change, habitat loss and disease that cause variation in numbers and distribution of winter birds.
